Another behind-the-scenes entrepreneur is Michael Cassidy, who sometimes steps into the spotlight to support his product, Michael’s Seitan.

You may have seen his savory (flavored) variety of “wheat meat” in Whole Foods or health-food stores. You’ve likely also sampled his wares if you’ve eaten at one of the increasing number of venues around town that serve seitan dishes.

How big will the vegan-TV trend get? “In a perfect world,” Jaime Karpovich hopes to see “a network that’s all vegan.” While that may take a while, you can get veggie infotainment on demand and maybe even get your own show ideas out there. Let’s hope they include car chases!

I do love meatless meals from time to time; I’m certainly not adverse to mock (fake) meat either. I pretty much enjoy it all — tofu, tempeh, seitan, etc. I’ve had each of them prepared in a variety of ways: in stir-fries, on sandwiches, in salads, to name a few. When I was asked to sample and write about Michael’s Savory Seitan Vegan Meat Alternative, I was more than game. I was legitimately intrigued.
